Seeing Every Student ✦ A Faith & AI Rapid Response Grant
The Catholic school teaching AI to see every student.
One of eight schools nationwide, and the only PreK–8 school, in the inaugural cohort of Notre Dame's DELTA Partner Program.
In late July, while we were still cleaning up mold damage in one of our buildings, I was in five classrooms with our technical lead, planning where a microphone should sit on a teacher's desk. That's not usually how a grant-funded research project starts. But it's honest, and honesty is the whole point of what follows on this site.
Our project, Seeing Every Student, asks a simple question: when AI helps a teacher notice which students are and aren't participating, does it make them a better teacher, without changing what makes teaching Catholic, formative, and human?
